Letter from the new member educator

Hello and welcome!

My name is Rachel Leiter, and I am the 2025 New Member Experience Director at UF Kappa Kappa Gamma. I am incredibly excited to be elected into this role. Coming from out of state, the idea of college was daunting– I was afraid to leave everything and everyone I ever knew to make new memories in a new place with new people. However, from the first moment I walked into the doors of Kappa, that fear turned into overwhelming excitement and anticipation for my next four years.

Growing up the youngest of three girls, a top priority of mine has always been to find meaningful and strong connections, similar to the bond I have with my sisters at home. Joining Kappa has allowed me the opportunity to do just that– I have found people who will always be there for me at my lowest and highest moments, and who will celebrate all my successes, even the littlest ones. I have grown so much over the course of college so far, and none of it would have been possible without Kappa and the friendships I have formed.

As the New Member Experience Director, I am ecstatic to welcome our new members to Kappa, and to help them grow and discover all of Kappa’s best qualities. Kappa is a place of love, a place of laughs, a place of warmth, and most importantly, the best home away from home that I could have ever asked for. I am thrilled to watch you thrive throughout your time at UF and at Kappa, and I am so thankful I get to be a part of it.
